Pasture Building

Title should say "Pasture Building"

I am looking at reseeding an acre of pasture at my parents house. I have been interested in frost seeding and was thinking about going with a rye, clover, and alfalfa mix. I don't know what seed I should go with for this area. Any suggestions would be great. We are in the central Okanagan area of BC zone 6.

I am hoping to fall seed after i cut down what is out there. The field is currently a mix of grasses and the neighboring fields are mostly in alfalfa.

I thought frost seeding was done in the early spring just after the snow melts but while you still have a daily thaw/freeze cycle.

Broad cast seeding in the fall would increase the amount of seed washed away by run off, blow away from wind, or eaten by mice and insects.
