I always liked splitting H2O.
Then putting it back together with a boom.

I know an easy way to generate hydrogen. Open a can of beenie weenies, get a spoon, and eat them. Wait a couple of hours and the production will begin.

Oh, that's *not* hydrogen?

Sorry...

Only watched a few seconds - did you get the right link, or is the hydregen part near the end?

So far it's a wood gas stove - my uncle tinkered with a setup like that to power a car back in WWII times when gas was rationed. He got it to work I hear, tho working & working well might be 2 different things? Mother Earth News featured one of these wood gassers back when it was a good magazine.

Hydrogen is one of the easier gasses to "make." I'd rather not give instructions here because it is too easy for kids to get in trouble with it.

Wood gas is actually a combination of carbon monoxide, and hydrogen with a small amount of methane thrown in the mix.

Good idea but fruitless as long as kids have google instead of science class as we did. I have 40 year old memories of what happens when a H gen is used to turn a giant novelty condom into a "mini Hindenberg" with a roman candle for the grand finale
