If you are really interested in helping out your fellow HTers...why not take a millisecond to add a link to the Craigslist ad?

I don't think anyone was being rude. A link is always helpful because a lot of the time there are pictures that are connected to the link.

I was not trying to be rude at all
He posted with a suggestion of doing something like this... Several ( myself included ) discussed the fact that this was just the sort of thing that belongs on the barter board...he argued that he wasn't necessarily looking to barter .
Cows on Craigslist Tulsa sold for $800
This is the thread.
I see the wisdom of his suggestion..but I'm pretty sure the Mods aren't open to the discussion of adding more sub-forums any time soon. The Barter Board covers all WTS WTB and WT Barter items for everyone.

Sorry for the misinterpretation. The comment came off to me as you were trying to be a smartie. Sorry for taking it wrong.

Starjj, ya know me. Nope. I dont know how to do that. Heck. I cant even take a paragraph out of context and place it into my own post in reply to it. ANYWAY. Its right that I need to get over posting on HQ and go to the barter board. Guess I just thought that it would be a bigger amount of people watching it.
ALSO. I cant have a calf/cow now, cause im not fixed up right for to have it/them. That being the case, I would have no reason to go there looking for one, ALTHOUGH, I could easily go there looking for something else, and see an ad for cow/calves.
BUT. Suppose, I finally got alla the ducks in line, and was ready for cows, But, hadnt really got my mind wrapped around the idea of looking for a cow/calf. Maybe cause its fall, and winter will be here and id have a young calf to worry about, and that id rather do it in spring. I wouldnt specifically go to the barter board looking for a calf, and could presumenabality miss some bargins on them.
BUT, Assumeing I was fixed up, AND saw on my regular 6 times a day visit to HQ that somebody HAD posted about available calves, at an agreeable price, THEN, I might decide to go for it while it was available.
Kinda wordy. Anybody understand what I was trying to say???

Another example is, Id like to buy a JD tractor 2 cyl. Cause I grew up with the sound and would like to have it here where i could hear it before there all gone. I know I probably cant afford one, as I dont know what a seller might want for one. Just have a high ball park figure in my mind. BUT, Say a person puts in CL that they have one at either an really good price, OR at a median price, but 30 miles from Tulsa, Or whatever other way the ad might be agreeable to me. THEN, Im gonna trey to figure how I can buy THAT tractor. If the owner hadnt posted it, in CL, rather than the local paper, Ida never known about it, and ida not been specifically looking for one.

But FBB that is exactly what the Barter board is for. It is loosely called a barter board but it is really just a general forum for people that want to sell/trade or barter. I think people looking for animals pretty much search on their own craigslist and other areas for what they need if they don't see it here. If people post everything they see on Craigslist to the Barter board then it is going to get crowded down with Craigslist posts and defeat the purpose of having our own area for posting items we have.
Your idea is nice and all but I can see it getting out of hand if everyone sees something and posts it.

FBB - I understand what you are saying. Seeing something when you are not actually looking for it. I do that a lot. But that is one of the reasons I scan the Barter board and certain topics on CL. It doesn't take long and you just never know what ya might find. And sometimes I see something I think someone I know might be interested in and will send the link to them. Judging from the number of "views" on the barter board, there must be a lot of people that do watch what is posted.
