survey math question

Say you have 15 acres
3 acres across by 5 acres deep

What would the dimensions be in feet?

slightlymore than 300 X 2,000 ft, lols.

edit to add you might want to check that before planning your runway.

Unless you are assuming that the acres are perfectly square there is no way to figure it. An acre is composed of any combination of 43,560 square feet.

Traditionally, "unsurveyed" parcel sizes are general those given below. I realized that there are porbably more combinations:

1 section = 640 acres = 5280' x 5280'

1/2 section = 320 acres = 2640' x 5280'

1/4 section = 160 acres = 2640' x 2640' or 1320' x 5280'

1/4,1/4 section = 1320' x 1320'

20 acres = 660' x 1320'

10 acres = 660' x 660'

If you had a "traditional" 15 acre parcel, the dimensions would most likely be 660' x 990'

With them square they can be figured. I've owned terraced land with curves and odd shapes which make for difficult figuring. One post over the weekend about Google Earth view showed a triangular piece.

My current small property is long and narrow, 545 feet along the front that borders a road but tapers to 525 at the back property line. The rest of the 16 acres is made of up about 1300 feet of distance. Not even any of the corners are at 90º angles, hence the taper.
