Cows on Craigslist Tulsa sold for $800
I got to thinking, It might be a good thing to have a place where we were looking for an item, and the area we were interested in finding it. That way, people in that area might be on the lookout for the items, and be able to let someone know if that item was in there area. Just a thought.
They said they had several cows at that price, and that they were gentle, and hand milked, or had been

You could even call it a "Barter Board" (just throwing out wild ideas off the top of my head)

Not sure I see your line a thought in this
What would be bartered?
As an example of what I was thinking. A person could put on the forum that they were looking for a Jersey cow 50 to 100 miles in NE Okla, NW Ark, SW Mo, or NE Kans. I could reply as I did with the heading of this post, they could go there, find it, and call the owners.
I suppose someone could put that they had this that they were willing to barter for that, but I think that the likely hood that the this and that would be in an area that either was willing to travel to make the exchange might be a long distance.

FBB don't tell me you don't read the barter board? This is what people do post what they have or want.

Well it is more of a for sale and wanted board and not a true Barter board at all.
To "barter" you have something I want, I have something you want, the asking prices are different then we "barter" I come over and "work" off the difference in what was for sale or you come over here and do for me to make up the difference, OR one adds one or more items to make up the difference OR, we both come up with Equal values,..and make the exchange no money involved. That is a true barter.

Again, I am saying that what i propose would likely have very little if anything to do with barter. Suppose I put on such a proposed forum that I was looking for a 1930s,40s, early 50s A<B or G John Deere. Say I was looking only in the states of Okla, Kansas. SW MO, or Ne, Me Ark. I have nothing I wish to barter, nor do I want to do any bartering in order to obtain the tractor. I expected to pay a price for it only, and hoped that anybody knowing of such a tractor for sale, knowing that it was in the area I was looking for, and thereby would let me know that it was available, and where I could find it, or the owners, ect.

Umm, have you even checked out the HT Barter Board? It's just a name for the forum, not a requirement to barter. A seller or person looking for an item could put whatever requirments such as location that they want in their ad.
Here's what it says right on the forum:
Barter Board (12 Viewing)
For anything you want to buy, sell or trade.

You should check out the Barter Board. It works pretty much the way you describe. Most people are "Bartering" for money....

Well, I used the HT Barter Board and using the PM feature, just bartered elephant garlic for kefir grains. Some also use it to sell products outright. So not sure what you are wanting to do that is different than what is already being done? Outright sales or barter. And it's easy to title you post with location desired.

I get it FarmBoyBill...how about adding a sub-board to the Barter Board such as "Searching for" where people could post "NE Okla: milk cow". Then, if John Doe knows that his neighbor down the road has one for sale, he could pass along the information.
Or maybe we could just stick to a standard for the headings on the Barter Board? "Sale: XXXX", "Barter: XXXX", "ISO: XXXX", "Found FS (NE Okla): XXXXX"

Went back to the barter board again. It was full this time. Ill use it if I find anything.
Seems (at the moment, which might quickly change) lol, that more people needing something, would benifit from posting their needs, and then letting anybody who may have a source for that need answer. As opposed to people like me posting something which somebody MIGHT need, and letting the chips fall where they may.
