cables in Michigan, anyone know if it is?

OK on the news they have been saying that Michigan got a grant to add braodband to the area..not sure how much this will effect us..or not

i have been seeing these cable install units all over the place, but i'm not sure if they are installing the braodband, or if it is just something else..like electric being upgrades or something..

but my guess is it is the new broadband??

the cables that they are laying are in blue and orange bright plasticy looking tube like things, and they are putting these orange and white things sticking up out of the ground every (10 seconds at 55 MPH) little ways..

so..i've seen them going along mostly the main roads (US131 and M113) but also on a few back roads.

i would dearly love if they would replace our communications wires on our road and in our county..but when we talked to them a year or so ago they said they never would..ours are horrible..so i'm hoping that this is the new broad band communication cables..and that they WILL be on our road someday soon !!

if my dad was alive i would know, as he would stop and go chat with the teams and ask, but not me, i'm way too shy

There has been talk "way up here" that they wanted to extend the high speed internet out of the city limits into the rest of Chippewa county. I sure do hope it happens however it will probably be a slow process! I don't remember if a grant was mentioned but I would not be suprised.

Kansas received grants for installing broadband services. I'm seeing a lot of towers scattered around over the state and wonder if the broadband will be wireless rather than hard wired.

I guess we should both do some Net searches for news stories about the grants if we have the interest to learn more and no one knows.
