Recycling ideas, please!

I was cleaning out one of the closets at our farm house and found 9 'canisters' of different sizes from the cheap electric ice cream freezers--the canisters are --maybe aluminum.. They all have the top(each has a hole in it, where the top of the blade could go thru to the motor) and some have the blades---we do not use this kind and none have the motor or the 'bucket'.

SO, I thought I could use them for something BUT what?? Any ideas/suggestions.. being the 'le-cheap-o' I am, I really don't want to just throw them away and our 'recycling center' forbids you giving away/or salvaging--so the sign says..

Thanks for your ideas..QB

Seal the hole in the tops with food grade silicone and use to store beans, peas, wheat or corn.

In the tops you can get a cork and put in there that is what usually comes with it when you buy a ice cream maker.

jam holes in the bottom with a nail and use them as planter liners..or smash and take them to a metal salvage place with all your other metal salvage and get some cash from them..we have metal recycling places here..you pile all your metal in your truck or trailer and they weigh you going in and out and give you money for the metal you leave behind..then THEY recycle them for you

Decorate them up and use as gift containers. I give "treats" as Xmas gifts (cookies, fudge, dipped pretzels, etc). If you do, too, paint these cannisters red, green, gold, whatever on the outside with a rattle can. Or glue on some festive fabric.
