Exclamation Tree Pest Alert

The Piedmont Landowners Association forwarded this to me from our local forester so I thought I'd share it with you FYI:
Thousand Cankers of
Walnut.- This disease was recently found in Tennessee, the first time
this disease has been discovered east of the Mississippi in the native
range of black walnut.- In early stages symptoms of this disease may be
confused with drought stress, which certainly is a problem this year.-
The earliest symptom is yellowing foliage that progresses rapidly to
brown wilted foliage, then finally branch mortality.

Please let your local forester know if you see something suspect.

Thanks for the heads up. I've got only a few black walnuts but I want to keep the ones I have.
