Anyone know where to get BIG rubber boots at
Rubbers being the name givin to 2 buckle overboots up in NE Kans/ SW MO where I came from. I need them to fit over a 12 shoe. I guess they dont sell down here as alot of the locals wear cowboy boots and this is sandy, not muddy ground when wet. Thanks ahead of time

Expect some looks when you go in stores and ask for size 12 rubbers.

I opened it. It said indeed they had them, BUT that they were western cut, for western boots. I wear work shoes. That would mean Id have several inches of rubber out ahead of me wherever I went. Would look like clown shoes lol

Bill- Maybe one of us further in the middle of the Midwest could mail you a pair? Every farm store here sells them.

I was in Tractor Supply on Saturday and they had BIG 'uns and they were marked down from $25 to $20.
edited: They had two styles, one taller than the other.

Interesting reginal terminology. When I was growing up in Iowa, they were called overshoes, buckle overshoes to be precise. There were snap and zipper overshoes also. You could get the high top or low. Think most farmers got the high tops. You step in something deep, you dont want water and other muck getting down in your shoe.
Down here in Ozarks dont see overshoes, they just have muck boots where you stick your foot directly in them and they have kind of a thick sole to make up for not having actual shoe involved. Dang things make my feet sweat and cramp if I have to wear them for any extended period of time.
Rubbers were low top stretch things (no buckles, they just stretched over your shoes) city slickers wore over their oxford dress shoes when it rained. Some called them galoshes(sp?).

Been while since I've been to an Atwoods farm store, but think they had the buckle overshoes, at least the Ft. Smith store did few years back. Cant say if they had the low top ones. They tend to have bigger selections of stuff than TSC though sometimes higher priced.

I looked in TSC catalog, Didnt show them. Our Atwoods dont carry them big enough. HJ. Im alot older than you. In my day, they didnt have zipper or snap except on light city boots.
Caiteded. If you cared to do that, and could find size 12s, If u give me the price WITH shipping beforhand, then please let me know about them. Thanks,

I have a pair of the knee boots with the hard soles that u wear barefoot, or with socks. I hate them cause I gotta scrunch up my pant legs and take off my shoes, and then put them back on again when finished. and thats all just for getting into the chicken house to gather eggs, feed and water. MUCh rather have a pair of rubbers I could just slip on and off over my shoes.

Tingley are tough and light weight and what I preferred for walking all day long while a letter carrier.
I have shoe model ones and boot model ones and western boot model ones.
