(talking about the picture in the article)
I wonder how many farmers wear laundered and pressed button down dress shirts while farming?

If we're looking at the same photo, according to the article the guy is selling produce at a farmer's market so I can forgive him for getting a bit dressed up

Even so, DH has work shirts that look that good straight out of the washing machine. They're some sort of poly blend that holds its shape really well.

Or if you knew some photographer was coming out to take pictures and interview you, you might just wear a good shirt..

I'm kinda like that guy, I run a software company I founded. I don;t have tons of cash put away, but I do have enough to get my place paid off and provide a workable income for 20 years or so if I can get my cost of living down to a very low income. Anything I can bring in selling lambs, honey or some such is extra cash in my retirement plan.

I bought long sleeved dress shirts at Kmart when I was out in the sun all day during the summer cutting hay before I had a cab tractor. They were mostly white with different color stripes. Cheap as any shirt in the 70's, looked nice and if a little grease got on it, it would wash right out. They were not 100 percent cotton but were cool. I would take a wash cloth, put in ice from my gallon jug, roll up and place on the back of my neck, letting the water run down my shirt....air conditioning....James

at my local farmer's market, there is a couple raising/selling berkshire pork. they were working at professional jobs in the wash dc area when 9/11 occurred. gave them a wake-up call, and they decided that shuffling paper in a big city wasn't how they wanted to spend their life, so the moved to tx, and started raising pigs.
