Question Having a well drilled

I have never had to deal with such a task is there any good advice that could be given to me in choosing a well driller? I know how deep the wells in the area are. Any advice would be welcomed.

Wow, there's a lot more to it than choosing the well driller! I've had wells drilled on two different properties. The health department authorizes an area where the well is to go relative to your home, septic field, etc but there is some latitude. I got a dowser to say just where the driller should start.
I asked all my neighbors who had had wells drilled who they recommended but there was too much variance so I contacted several electricians which had good reputations. Somebody will have to drop your pump in and run water lines and electricity to your home, right? So I was looking for an electrician who had a good relationship with a well driller. That's how I found my well driller. He was a really good guy and I was very pleased with the whole operation.

We used Wilco in Buffalo but my wife says there is couple in Macks Creek that travel. Our Well was 325 feet deep had to put extra casing because of the rock.

My wife said Neighbor paid around $10K,I'm thinking cheaper but she says no.

Wilco in Buffalo did mine and I know he will travel, but not how far. Not sure he goes all the way to "smak in the middle of the Mark Twain." Seven years ago, mine was $5/ft and $7/ft cased. Missouri requires that you case at least the first 90 ft. That and at least 100' from any septic (tank or lateral) are about the only regulations, though they might vary a little by county.
