insect id question

i have some bugs i can't find on any of the plant id sites or in any of my books..simple little bugs, don't appear to be very harmful.

they are a light grey with dark legs and they have no markings and they don't have shields like the beetley bugs..they are just soft grey triangular shaped bugs..not ugly..maybe 1/8 " about

i know what they are NOT ..but not what they are. They were on pumpkin leaves..i should have gotten photos but it was too hot to walk back out there..maybe later.

My bet is that they were immature squash bugs.

my first thought was squash bugs, then I read further to where it said "they were on the pumpkin leaves". Definitely squash bugs, or at least, what I've always called squash bugs

nope that isn't what they are either..funny you are coming up with the only bugs i could find that matched the description..but that isn't what they are..they are not hard coated..they are not shiney..they have no identifiable markings or colors..they are not shieldy..they are just a light grey triangle.

however..

i did move a sunflower tube feeder on a shepherds hook over the area and the next day they were all gone ..so obviously the birds must have eaten them..no problemo...i just wondered what they were.

gone now

the joys of a completely chemical free food forest garden with lots of birds, every time i've seen unusual bugs or numbers of bugs i've moved a feeder over the spot and within a day or two all the bugs were gone
