Cool An ad on craigslist just now

Just thought I'd share this ad because I sold a parcel of land to a guy like this. Obviously. These secrets are divulged through actions, not words usually. When you find out retroactivelyan what do you do?? Or DID you do, if it happened to you? Here's the ad:

" I hate staying in motel or apartments, worrying about bothering the neighbours, cause I get drunk and sometimes even arrested. Yeah I'm serious. Plus when I'm sobering up I start bugging in enclosed spaces. I love listening to loud music, which doesn't mean I do it. Cause I never can. I mean I'm not stupid. When I'm withdrawing and really need a drink and my nerves are on edge and/or staying up all night the walls move in on me and I start listening to the sounds around me and hate having to be careful not to pace the floor above the room below. Man it's not like I ever paid for crack cocaine, or even ever shot drugs, (strangely) but if I'm going to mess up I wanna get away with it yall. But don't worry, cause I'm in recovery now, clean and sober, and homeless, and it's not that easy to find a place to live. I have a headache right now and maybe a drink would get rid of it, but I digress. AND SO, I'm totally serious, I want a place to live, I've never been convicted of a felony, there will be no drug paraphernalia around me, and no firearms please. Cause I want a place to live with tolerance and space with anybody ASAP. Rock n' Roll =;o)- "

Well how did your sale work out? He might be sober now, but his ad would scare me off.

That ad reminds me of one I saw on CL recently (can't find it to post it now) that was a man asking for help at his house. The person had to be available for live in because he liked to go drink after work and liked to drink too much. He wanted someone who would drive him home and stay the night to make sure he made it up in time for work.

I guess he's being honest....

I want, I want, I want. Makes my @ss tired to hear this all the time.

So, if you want, EARN IT. There is no free ride. There never was (others have been picking up the tab for you). This is called reality.

Wow, I wonder what planet that guy is from?

He might as well have posted "I'm a (somewhat) recovering alcoholic with little concern for others... and I'm not ashamed about any of it. Rent to me?"

Good grief. This is reason #64 why I live in a rural area.

I think he used to live in one of the apts adjoining mine. In EVERY apt I lived in! He's the reason I hate living in town.

I guess that it is a good thing that I have plenty of weapons!

I won't ever have to worry about the peace wanting, loud music playing, alcohol swilling person being my neighbor!!!

It's not like he ever paid for 'crack cocaine'?? It sounds as if he does it only if it is a freebee..

To me, "rock and roll" refers to firing a fully automatic weapon at several targets..

yep I am quite sure that I evicted this guy a few months back. Somebody go for it, it will change your life forever. It did mine. I will never be the same.
I think I will change careers to become a substance abuse counselor. I would like to straighten up a few guys like this one.

I feel better now.

What would bother me is being a neighbor.

And someone sold their land - knowingly - to a selfish jerk like that who has some problems.

Yikes.

You know, Iwas out partying one night in my long-ago life, and was approached by a street guy. He said, "Can you give me a dollar?" I sid, "For what?" He shrugged and said, "I need a bottle." I gave him the money and then some, because he was honest. No sob story, no fanfare. I LIKE honesty.

Doesn't mean I'd rent to this guy, though!

A guy asked me for a dollar for a sandwich. I asked, "First let me see the sandwich."

I was in Vegas and a guy outside a casino asked me for $5 for food. I told him he would just take it inside and gamble and not buy any food. He said, Oh no... I have gambling money.
