Question Need to go to Joplin, MO. Help, Please!

I need to drive to Joplin this weekend, to take DGD to visit with the other grandparents. (Joplin is about the halfway point between them and me.)

I've never been there; know nothing about the city. Can anyone familiar with Joplin recommend an easy-to-get-to meeting point? Preferably not in the city innards! Perhaps a nice restaurant or an attraction on the outskirts of the city? East or West side, doesn't matter.

Thanks in advance!

The only place that I have ever been is the Cracker Barrell on the east side of Joplin, just off of the highway...

Thanks for the input, BR and Tana. Just the sort I was hoping for. Now I can look those particular places up and get a map to one (or both). Appreciate it very much.

Just at the west edge of Joplin at about the 4 mile marker on I-44, on the south side is the Petro Fuel Stop. They have a pretty nice restruant. I met OkieMom there for a dog transfer a couple of years ago.

Sounds like you'll be on I44 so the easy place would be Petro as you can get on and off w/o much trouble.
