A note about cheap ammo...Federal blue box...

I was having trouble with misfires with this stuff. My gun repair guy told me to avoid them and go with high velocity rems.

Apparently, many people are experiencing misfires with the Fed blue box....anyone else having the same issues?

Do we get to guess the caliber or gauge involved?

Oh. I shot a bunch at gophers this spring, but the landowner bought them. They worked well in a 10-22 and Model 41 Smith. Maybe it's a recent run with the problems.

I'm guessing you're talking about .22lr. If so, I've shot a bunch of them and never had any more problems with them than with any other brand I've used.

Too many variables unmentioned in your question to guess at. Caliber, gun mfg, age of gun, how many rounds fired, last cleaned, headspace, condition of firing pin, semi-auto, bolt action, etc, etc.--including ammo mfg and lot number. That said, mine seem to like CCI the best. If I have misfires, I save them for a hammer gun single shot target practice. Second misfire, they get disposed of

Nothing wrong with Federals; some guns like certain brands better than others.
