outdoor old fashioned water pump ...

We have 4 outdoor water faucets, all but one are freeze-proof. I want to turn the one that isn't freeze-proof into a functional show place with a horse trough and old fashioned water pump. I know nothing about either and will be googling to find what I can.

Does anyone in here have such items working on their place; and if so, can you provide some information about what are best to purchase along with some pros and cons to having them?

You currently have pressurized water there.

You would like to place a hand pump there.

Really, doesn't quite work. The hand pump is for pumping water out of a well or cistern directly below it that has no pressure - just a bowl of water. The current pressurized pipes will supply water already pressurized, no need for the hand pump deal.

If I understand you?

You can get nice looking replica faucets that look much like an old hand pump, but use pressurized water with a faucet.

Otherwise, you can't really marry a hand pump to a pressurized pipe very well?

Yes you're correct. That water is coming from our well, which is pumped already. I hadn't considered that.

Well, I don't like anything unreal; so that lets out the replica faucets that look like old hand pumps.

Thanks rambler.
