Prospecting School?

Is there anywhere that has a good school or degree program dedicated to the art and science of prospecting?

Mineral prospecting? I'm not aware of any.

The Gold Prospectors Association of America has some videos and often cable television shows along with some published information that might help. Some of the reading materials tells where gold is likely to settle in a stream/river/creek.

Yes the GPA is great I was just hoping some of the geological schools might have some coursework aim at the independent prospector in particular.

GPAA has the best option

The university schools sometimes offer a class on precious metal or Economic Geology. It isnt what you want. There are courses on mining but they are for Trammel mining and large scale stuff.

honestly, going to a week long GPAA outing will do more for you than any course work that could be offered. When I joined the GPAA I bought the video's and a few books and got started.
