Some of the First Homesteaders

From the linked story;

"The Natural History Museum's Chris Stringer, another of the paper's authors, said living in such an environment would have been challenging. Thick forests meant a poor supply of edible plants and dispersed prey. In the winter, there would be less daylight for hunting and foraging. Then, of course, there was the cold."

That was an interesting article, and also of interest to me is the fact that the website it's on is a local newspaper less than 10 miles from me

There is a big conflict in that story. First it said that at the time mammoths and saber toothed tigers were present. Then it said that the area was heavily forested. That is a contradiction that is unsustainable. Mammoths and saber toothed cats did not live in forests, they lived in glacial steepes, grasslands that did not support the growth of trees, let alone forests.
