Crock question

Have been digging the parents crocks out of storage. Found a 2 gallon? crock that shows to be cracked about 3" down from the rim. Have it full of water soaking the muddobber nests.

If there is no seepage/wicking at the crack, will it be ok to use for making Kraut?

Yes, as long as it is not going to leak out it will work fine.
My grandmas biggest crock (5 gallon) has a crack that goes almost halfway down it
but it still holds.

Put a pan under it while it is 'soaking' so you can see how much
leaks out. Another option is to not fill it all the way up with kraut.
