Talking Mother Goose loves her baby turkeys!

I have a white chinese goose that had a clutch eggs that did not hatch. But when my turkey poults were put outside to live, she decided they were hers!
Now she won't let anyone near the babies. She talks to them all day and chases away other birds or humans.

Oh, that's too funny! Several years ago, I had a bantam hen hatch out four or five Muscovy duck eggs. By the time those ducklings were two weeks old, they no longer fit under the hen at night! Just crazy to watch.

It seems to me that geese are pretty willing to foster anything! I did have a hen once that hatched some duck eggs out for me. She was a good mom and about went insane when the ducklings were old enough to swim in the creek. Poor mom would run up and down the creek bank carrying on in the most pitiful manner!

My duck sat on her nest beginning with six or eight eggs, got up to over twenty. Just a couple days before the oldest ones would have hatched out neighbor's dog came over and had lunch.

Very happy for your goose.

We have a lonely old gander that has bonded with my wife's Ford Explorer. Pitches a fit whenever we leave with it.
