Farm Market Question

A question for all you market people: Where do you find your supplies? For example, quart baskets? Bags? Pots?

Thanks in advance for the info!!

You can certainly ask here by you will probably have better results by asking in the market garden forum on this site at the above link.

People bring their own, I don't bag anything, we don't need more plastic on the side of the road!

In turn when I go to the other farmer's markets I bring my own bags and canvas carry-all bag.

for my home farm store, foks bring extra egg cartons they get their friends and neighbors to sell for me. We make sure these are CLEAN as we reuse them over and over til they are completely worn out!

We don't do "baskets" but I noticed at our local farmer's co-op they had stacks of them for sale. If we did use baskets we would get our customers to recycle them as well.

At the local farmer's market we use plastic "Wal-mart" type bags that we get everybody to save for us, although some folks are getting better about bringing canvas or other bags with them for their items!

best wishes!

I have a You-Pick apple orchard and order my apple bags from Putnam Plastics.

The bags are very sturdy and hold up to being hauled all over out rugged mountain orchard.

Although a lot of people use their own bags and baskets, we use sandwich and the larger storage type bags for only a couple of items, we have plastic bags on a roll (produce bags) we get from a local grocery wholesaler, and the t-shirt bags (handled carry bags) from Sam's Club. And sometimes people will give us extra grocery bags.
