Found a strange thing in the chicken

I butchered 4 chickens this afternoon, and in the abdomen of one I found what looked to be miniature egg yolks. Like marble-sized egg yolks, no shell, no whites. Deep inside, like about 3 inches in. Not encased in anything. Just like globules. Not fat. Has anyone else come across this?

They are considered a big delicacy in some places. I think I remember reading something last summer about fancy restaurants in NYC using them.

Mom always put them in her noodles.
You realize you killed the hen that was going to lay the golden egg.

Wonderful any way you add them to the noodles, stews or even just with the roast chicken.

And, yes. You killed your new layer.

My husband calls it the egg tract. They are the eggs that haven't fully formed yet. Hens lay one egg a day. The rest are in formation like someone said; Lined up and ready to go.
Hens are a marvel of creation. They peck their way out of an egg and end up laying eggs. Then they can set on fertile eggs and three weeks later more chicks are pecking their way out of eggs! The cycle of life goes on.

No, I didn't. I wasn't sure they were egglets, (I also thought they might be little tumors and I didn't want to eat that...) Anyway, at butchering and eviscerating time, I am not in a mood to eat anything!

Since she was a Freedom Ranger type of meat chicken, I wasnot thinking of keeping any for layers.
