Our tags cost $2 per vehicle.

Taxes attached to those $2 tags vary from a low of $24 for older vehicles to a drive by colonoscopy range of $150 and higher for newer cars.

They're priced according to the weight of the vehicle in Florida. Suburban and full-size pickup run around $80 each. Smaller vehicles would be less. Trucks above a certain size have to declare a GVW and tag is priced according to that.

Tags cost between $50-200 per year for me, depending on the vehicle.

Emission inspection is $7 per year (actually $14 every other year).

Safety inspection is a one time deal, and is unlimited what it can cost you. I've never gone over $2,000, friend just went over $4,000 last fall.

Just under $100 per vehicle - no inspection, just a royal pain in the neck with the paperwork.

Man, I can remember when I lived in IL, Plates were $23, with all the paperwork, it was something like $52 out the door, and we were complaining about paying that!

This last time around in FL, my '98 Isuzu Rodeo cost me a total of $193 to register the out of state tittle and get Fancy-dancy "Air Force" plates.

No major inspection, but someone did go out to the vehicle to check the ODO, VIN and GVW.

A good reason why I run older vehicles. One also has to pay sales tax upon purchase of the vehicle with it currently 7¼%. Many people moving into Kansas keep their vehicle illegally until the plates from the state they came from expire.

For quite a number of year I drove as my only vehicle a 1949 Chevrolet 1 ton. Tax, antique tag and insurance ran $52 per year. Can't get cheaper than that.

I run farm tags on my trucks, 48 bucks for two years. Cars are 75 bucks per year, trucks are dependent on weight but they run from 75 bucks on up per year. Cost the same amount no matter what the age of the vehicle.

I run 8,000 pound plates for $108 per year. And, Wisconsin doesn't have annual inspections.
