Rambler and other MN folks, for 6/17, important!

Rambler (and other folks living in MN, E. SD, E.NE and IA if you haven't heard the weather reports yet for today, you may want to check them.

Here's a link to NOAA's storm prediction center for 6/17/2010

http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day1otlk.html

The outlook is not looking good for Tornatoes, Hail, or high winds.

The Hail outlook is a very high 45 % chance of not only getting some hail, but hail in the size of 2 inch of greater!

Be safe!

The northwest part of the state is under a tornado watch right now.

The winds are strong today out of the east right now, they've been predicting bad storms for today since last night. We sure could do without the hail, that would demolish the gardens.

There's a nasty storm cell on the radar just to the south of us right now (about 3:05 PM), but I think it's going to miss us by a bit. I won't mind a bit if we don't get the rain, because only half of my garden is planted because it's so soggy.

Thank you.

I got about 1/4 inch of rain & small gust of wind.

I was just emailing people that they were forcasting bad storms for 2 days already, and frankly nothing much was on the radar for southern MN.

And 10 minutes later the buzzers went off on TV, cells were popping up, and the deal was on.

Two small cells brewed up, one a mile north of us, the other 3 miles south of us. At the same time!

The one headed NE, the other headed mostly E to SE, and kept getting stronger.

Lot of damage around the state, this will look much worse in the morning. One fella phoned in that he just drove by 15 farms, all wiped out. Couple towns got hit.

So sorry for those that lost family & homes & businesses.

Glad to hear that no one has been hurt by yesterday's storms, y'all are not out of the woods yet. They're saying that the storms are not going to move much for today.

Mostly centered over the southern part of MN, northern half of IA, a little into IL and WI, but the better news is that from the information I am seeing, this will be strong winds and "small" hail, compared to Thursday's 4.25 inch hail in Millerville,MN and a total of 62 tornadoes in pretty much the two states of MN and ND.

Still, be careful out there today while trying to clean up.
