solar technology training?

Anyone know of a good solar energy training school/courses, etc? Hopefully near Kansas.

Hi,
The May issue of Home Power Magazine has a article "Charting Your Solar Course" that has a big directory of solar training programs. I did not see any in Kansas, but there were some in nearby states.

If you want to email me, I can send you a pdf of the article -- gary@BuildItSolar.com

But, if you are interested in this area, the best way is probably to go to the Home Power website and take the digital subscription (10 bucks I think) -- this gives you access to 20 years of Home Power -- the best solar (renewable) energy magazine in the universe

You might also think about taking a trip up to the MREA in Wisconson -- the best renewable energy fair in the universe! They have some programs on training and certification. Check their website. The MREA fair is usually around the summer solstice (June 20 or so) -- so not much time left.

Gary, that is a great magazine, and that article about the "off grid & off shore" is just what I was talking about the other day. If people in boats can sail around the world, and be comfortable, then why can't someone have a small cabin with all the same comforts.

Thanks for that tip. Sometimes Google searches can be overwhelming, too much info.

Have you checked with ITT there in Wichita to see what they offer? I seem to recall seeing one of their television ads for wind energy training so they might offer one for photovoltaics unless you were wanting solar heating as well as electrical production.

Krause---nothing eh?
