The japanese beetles have descended on my property...again...

They started on my fruit trees. I hosed them with sevin....we'll see.....

I really don't like the traps because I think they draw them from all neighborhoods into my yard....

They probably emerged rather than descended. Look up milky spore if you want to start now to get rid of them in the future.

Deep breaths here....I do not live in or near Kentucky. I do not have Japanese Beetles. I don't have chicken snakes and I have never seen a mouse in my house! I never lie...really I don't.

I love the japanese beetle traps, they catch the bugs I feed to my ducks in the winter.

Just curious, what kind of bugs do you have in the winter?

Gardens Alive has a product that battles Japanese Beetles and other pests. It is organic/natural.

Let us know how that worked, we have them too come mid summer and they really tear stuff up .
Heres what OSU has to say about them for control options:

it was odd, I had one show up then no more?????

I'm waiting for them to decend like always...hords and hords of them. I hand kill mine, one year I counted every day how many I drowned. it was at least 200 a day and it didn't even make a dent.

Around here somewhere there's a picture the DD took as I was releasing "the fog of death" and its aftermath. In one pic you can see a white cloud of sevn dust rolling out of the corn and over the green beans. In the others you can see millions upon millions of Jap beetle bodies on the ground. OK. . .it wasn't REALLY millions but it seemed that way.
