need opinions on a hand cranked grain mill

I am looking to buy my daughter a hand cranked grain mill and have narrowed the choices down to two- a country living grain mill and a family grain mill. I need reviews of these by people who have actually used these to grind FINE flour from wheat, so if any of you have used either of these please let me know how they worked for you. Thanks.

I have a Country Living mill and it grinds fine pastry flour beautifully. I only ever grind once through, a second time is not required. My mill is motorized, but that doesn't alter the mills capabilities, only the amount of labor required.

If you get the CL mill, get the large auger with it if you use corn or want to grind beans. I grind beautiful cornmeal with this mill and the large auger allows you to grind beans or corn or just about anything.

I use my mill all the time and love it. It can be adapted to use with a bicycle or a motor and easily back to a hand crank mill. If you go to the country living website they have pictures and instructions of how to motorize or set up for a bicycle.

Freelove- I couldn't have said it better myself. I Love my Country Living mill. We too motorized ours, but have used it without the motor. I have ground everything in mine from wheat to black beans (used the laurger auger) and haven't had a problem. Don't forget the Country Living mills are made in the USA, and their customer service is excellente!

I also have a Country Living Mill. The flour comes out as fine as you want. I use the hand crank with the power bar extension. When I bought it I looked at a lot of different ones, but what sold me was that it was made here in the States.
