Anyone done one of those do it yourself bedliner kits like Herculiner?

I've read they do work, depending on the 'prep' but the spray on can be better. I never saw a bad report on Line X but they are pricy.
Check out POR15 [paint over rust], they sell a line of auto restoration products and have their own two part kit that comes w/ the spray gun for $149.00 though I'm sure they will want you to buy their own metal cleaning and metal prep items too. I have used their POR15 and topcoat on rusty truck wheels w/ good success.

I just got some for my jeep
From what Ive read online its supposed to be very durable. Lots of people people have put it in their jeeps and are happy with it. Im about to line my jeep with it so I can just hose it out when it gets muddy.
You do need to remove all the rust before you apply it, and apparently brake fluid will eat right through it.

Hmm, anybody ever use this stuff to coat inside of tractor rear tire rims to help keep them from rusting? I mean if you start with clean bare or painted metal and put this glop on it, will it bond securely enough that rust wont develope underneath it? Or would something like fiberglass 2 part epoxy resin work better? Regular paint doesnt seem to hold up very well.

What you would want to coat bare metal is etching primer or epoxy primer.

I lined the bed in my 81 ford with the $8 a can bedliner spray from Advanced three years ago and its still holding its own. Three cans would probably been enough but I used five.

My ex-in-law has a shop up in Danville, IN and they do a lot of farm equipment, Jeeps, etc, it's not just for bedliners anymore.
As for the after-market products, for what you're looking at doing, I would think it should be fine, but for the price and hassle, maybe stop into one of your local shops and see if while they are spraying a vehicle they could spray your parts and cut you a deal.
That "Trucks" show on Spike TV just did a show on the DIY bed-liner and it didn't seem too bad. What I didn't like about what they were using was, although it could be rolled on, it was "best" to spray it on. Well, then they needed to get a hold of a spray gun with a big enough spray tip. From the mess I saw first-hand, (in-law's shop) that will be the last thing you will ever use that guy for. So is there that much of a savings in the end over the cheapest bed-liner company in town???

Maybe so but at $40 a quart, probably not going to happen.

I did the tub of my Jeep this past weekend.
I used Herculiner because it was on sale. Upol Raptor is much better, and it's about the same price. It's easiest to find on e-bay.
Prep is vital. But then, when painting, prep is always vital.
Pardon the dirty seat, but I have not scrubbed it yet.

57Plymouth, nice job. I was thinking about doing that to my Rodeo. OK run-around vehicle, but the carpet is getting shot.

I saw a cattle trailer once that had the liner sprayed on the lower 6 inches or so of the walls where they meet the floor. Where trailers always start rusting. Since my trailer is also starting to rust out at that junction, anyone have any experience using this stuff for that application? Do you use some kind of fiberglass filler for the rusted out holes?

My ex sister-in-law had a shop in IN and they did a lot of farm equipment and trailers. It's kind of like the OJ slogan, "it's not just for breakfast anymore."
I know it cost a pretty penny, but for what this stuff does, man it's worth it if the equipment is worth it. The pool cleaner guys down here should spray their whole vehicles with the stuff. Saw a late-model pick-up today and the whole back end was rusted away from the pool chemicals. Coming from IL, I was even amazed at that much rust.
