Mahindra tractors?

Does anyone know anyting about them? A dealership recently opened nearby and they seem to have reasonable prices. These here are $11,000 without loader - new.

The older Mahindra model was manufactured from the old International tractor machinery that made the IH 544 model, I believe. Just like when International built them, they were bomb proof, but the milling machines were old and worn and fluid leaks sometimes were a problem. Don't know a thing about the new models.

Folks who buy them around here seem to like them/use them.

We bought a new Mahindra 5520 with a loader 3 yrs ago and love it. We then got the quick attach bale spear a yr later. Only had one problem with the power steering but was under warranty. We chose the 20 series because all controls are on the sides for ease of getting on and off (not getting any younger). No regrets here, it makes life so much easier on the back.

Seems like nowadays, if you want a value-priced 40-50 utility tractor, you've got your choice of Indian-made, Indian-made, Indian-made and and, uh..Indian-made.

John Deere has a value line made in India, as does New Holland and Massey Ferguson. Mahindra brings stuff in under their own name.

I only have small knowledge of the Deere and the Mahindra tractors...most of my neighbors who have them, like them, but you must realize what you are buying before you purchase. You are not going to see the refinement you would see in a Kubota M or in a Mexican-made Deere. You will get a much more reliable tractor than anything Chinese, with major factory support and a lot of horses for the money.

I have a 4410 that I use on my 23 acres, it has a front end loader that handles the big round bales, is 4wd, and even though I'd never driven a tractor and am female, I get on with it great. It starts everytime in my winter weather. I've had it 3 years and so far so good. For the price you can't go wrong. Get the biggest you can get otherwise you will regret it. If I had a complaint, they are heavy and can leave some ruts compared to other tractors.

Japaneese made is probably better but you will pay more.

Chineese made is much worse & you will hate the leaks and poor finish for as long as you own it......

Indian made stuff is typically a pretty good deal at price vs quality. Something that should hold up & work well for you.

About 6 years ago, we needed a new garden tractor. A Mahindra place opened in our town, but yet we went around to all the local towns looking at price vs similiar machine.

Mahindra won for the cheapest price (and being the closest to us helped also). We bought one.

ZERO problems and we love it. Got it with the rear finishing mower and front bucket. Sometimes we wonder if we shouldn't have gotten the belly mower, but the dealership pushed us more towards the rear mower. It's great for mowing except in some tight places.

Our dealer is constantly ordering more machines as he keeps selling the ones in stock.

I'm certainly not disappointed with it, and I'm sure my son will using it 50 years from now.
