Good Day

We woke up yesterday and found that one of our eggs (that were due to hatch Monday) started to open up! It's a homemade incubator that I was really not expecting anything to hatch in.
We then worked on the yard and fence area to get ready for goats.
Went to the auction to take/sell some chickens and a rabbit.... Made the most (relative to what I spent on them) $ that we ever had....
The only problem of the day was when the wife wasn't looking, I bought a 2 yr old Jack for $50. He seemed to have a real nice temperament. And looked healthy. Not too fat but feed well. He was defiantly taken care of.

Oh btw - the egg? One little chick all dry and fluffy - and one more egg starting to open!

I like home made things, even better when they work. Your bragging rights guaranteed, by the effort. Congratulations on chicks.

I sold a man in western NC a livestock trailer. The conditions of the sale was that he was to take a jack I had with the trailer. The jack had recently broken a leg of one of my calves. Any chance this jack is red in color? : )

Yeah 3ravens you're right - a Donkey
No agmantoo standard "brown" color... I'll try to get pic tomorrow he's pretty average as far as looks but real sweet so far. He loaded really well. Let me brush him and mess all over with him. I didn't try to jump on him as the previous owner said he hasn't been ridden but I did throw the 4 year old on and he didn't even budge. So I let the kids ride a few yards while the wife walked beside them.... I'll try to actually ride him myself after I work with him some more

Anyone have any pointers? What about pics of hoofs? His don't look too bad but i know they need to be trimmed up some

And for those counting - 2 chicks alive and well now...

I hope that 4 year old had a helmet on. And have fun with trimming the hooves(wear a helmet).
