Question Shaklee Basic H for deworming?

I spoke with a gentleman yesterday who says he deworms all his animals (dogs, cattle, and poultry) with Shaklee's Basic H soap. Anybody here use it for this? If so, what kind of results do you get? What dosage would you use?

I am curious for an answer to this question also as i have a book called "home remedies 2" and it calls for the "Basic H' as well for treating for all kinds of things/animals...and the book also mentioned "Basic G"...do not know what either one of these are but then i don't know much about Shaklee's products...and was always afraid to ask so am glad you ask.. :>)

A quote from the book~~ We like to either wet our seeds with Basic H and water before planting or watering with a watering can in the row before covering with dirt. Our seeds germinate better..

I used it about 2 years ago with our sheep. I couldnt tell if it was an effective wormer or not. I guess I basically used it in conjuction with chemical wormers. I filled a 15 gallon water tub up then added 1/2 cup Basic H. DO NOT add it before filling, or while filling the tubs.......it foams like crazy and my sheep wouldn't drink from the tub for 2 days. It was funny, now that I think of it. But,..........I can attest to the fact that it DOES work wonders on those crazy ladybugs (box elder) bugs that attack the side of our house. The trick here is to spray the side of the house BEFORE they start to come out of dormancy. I sprayed the eves, the porch, around the window sills, everywhere! Worked like a charm. No bugs pooping on the sides of my white house. And when I went to spray it down with water to get the dust and dirt off the sides (have to do this about 3 times a year) there was some residual soap left that aided in cleaning the siding! Hey, now that I am thinking about this.....I wonder if it would keep tater bugs off my taters?? It is a very bio-friendly product. I might just try that......spray my garden with some Basic H instead of the other stuff I use. It couldn't be NO WORSE than what I have....7 dust, orthene, etc (I know what some of you are saying .....)

Well, lo and behold...I'm that Shaklee person! lol

I've used Shaklee products for 38 years now. My husband has used Basic H on our pastures and with our horses with excellent results.

Basic G??? I would NEVER be without it!

As far as the de-wormer goes, we did not use it for that. However, I know it can be done. I'll ask my DH about it. ... He said he put 1 Tbsp. Basic H per 100 gal. tank. He also wormed the horses, so doesn't know if it works on its own or not.

As far as on the pastures goes, he said he used 1 pint/acre sprayed on with one of those big water tanks. The results were amazing. In a drought year, our grass was green and lush--they don't irrigate around here. The way Basic H works is as a soil conditioner. It will help the rain to go way deep into the soil. It makes the water wetter, way wetter.

It can be done at any time, but works really good in Fall or Spring. It is not toxic at all to the life of the soil. After 3 years the pasture will be pretty-much weed-free because the healthy grass will squeeze out the weeds.

We no longer have the pastures, so no photos available. Wish we had taken some.

We bought 5 gallons and used it on 2 pastures (50 acres) and I used part of it for our home use. At that time it cost $125. for the 5 gallons. I don't think it's gone up much since then.

BASIC G....You will most love Basic G for cleaning out your barns and bathrooms etc. As with Basic H, it is very concentrated. 1 Tbsp. in a 5 gallon bucket is about what we use.

Basic G is a germicide cleaner. Whenever I travel, I always carry a small bottle of Basic G with me. When my husband was hospitalized, I washed down his room every day with it. (1 tps. per pan of water)

Anyway I could go on and on about these 2 products. If you want more info on how to get it, PM me. Didn't mean to get into a sales pitch for Shaklee. Sorry.

Oh, I forgot about the bugs. Yes, Basic H will kill aphids and probably those ladybugs. It makes the water so much wetter that it drowns them.
