Facebook users: One more scam

.

"If you get an e-mail that appears to be from Facebook saying the company reset your password and urging you to open an attachment, it is a scam. ...

The attachment contains a password stealer that can potentially access any username and password combination used on the computer, not just the login credentials for Facebook...."

I don't know why anyone would use facebook anymore with all the problems that go along with it.

I do use FB quite a lot, but don't play any of the games or use any of the various applications and have not had any problems after my computer guy beefed up my virus protection and firewall.

That said, I do get these kinds of messages (not yet from FB) but have had them from eBay, PayPal and several banks I don't even do business with! If I think there might be a problem, I go to the website and check from there, never respond to an email.

Same here, I never open any attachments or click on links from inside emails, unless it's from my husband or close friend, etc. I have great anti-virus protection (husband's a techie), but don't trust anything. I, too, use FB all the time, but never use the apps at all. I know plenty of friends who've gotten "hijacked" from FB spam/scams.

Never, ever open attachments that are unsolicited! Same with links, be careful, and make sure your anti-virus is up-to-date and running before clicking links that you think are valid.
