needing tiller trouble shooting help.

I was out tilling up new ground when I lost a shear pin to a rock. replaced the pin with one that came with tiller. now, the tine rotates as long as it's up in the air, but once I place it in the ground/or there is any resistance it stops moving. the tine on the other side still rotates. any thoughts?

Check the pin that goes through the shaft in the center of the tines that only turns when it is out of the ground.

thanks uncle Will. I've replaced the pin that was lost/broken and see no other spot for another one. thankfully it's under warranty so they'll have to come over and fix it. I was just hoping it might be something simple that I could fix in a jiffy so I could work on the garden all weekend. guess not. I'll be calling first thing in the morning. thanks anyway.

Pull your shear pin and make sure that the tine assembly is pushed all the way towards the center of the tiller.
On our Craftsman the drive shaft is shorter than the tine assy and if you don't push the tines back towards center putting the shear pin in doesn't do anything.
