Exclamation Lawnmower class action lawsuit

I read that there is a class action law suit on lawnmowers if they were bought between 1994-2010. $35. for push and $75. for riding it seems that someone lied about the horsepower.

Yes this was talked about on here a few days ago..class action lawsuit if you purchased a mower last several years
and really the only ones that come out ahead are the lawyers, heck they are even advertising this on TV now~!1
But the Key words are UP T0 35 for walking ones UP TO 75 for riders so IF a person gets Anything at all it maybe only 10 bucks for walkers and maybe 35 to 40 for riding ones. Not worth the time and hassle and not worth getting more lawyers any RICHER.

I started the thread and possibly have 3 mowers that qualify...

however, what they say you will get and what you get are 2 different things. The big winners here are attorneys. We..... we might get a 10 coupon from one of these stores.

I was in 2 previous ones. One was a GMC pickup that had the gas tank problem. I would get 100 dollars for that. I got nothing. Next, there was HP computer where the company supposedly misrepresented the speed. Got nothing for that.

I remember that one. I got a coupon for $1,000.00 !!

But I had to buy a new GMC vehicle in order to use it.

I have never been involved in a class action lawsuit where I didn't receive SOMETHING. I have been involved with quite a few against credit card companies, my mortgage company, a company that made those electric heaters that look like baseboard heaters, etc...

Well that is a different deal then this so called lawn mower case for what is being called a lower horse power rating on the motors. that is pure speculation and a way to get lawyers even richer in the process.

I too got reimbursed from the GMC suit years ago, but I got an actual check. For the AWESOME amount of...............

.37 cents.

I never deposited it, kept it for years as a joke.

In fact, I have one of the postcards for this lawnmower suit here in Friday's mail. Another interesting statement is..."If claims exceed the amount available for csh payments, payments will be reduced". Further toward the bottom it says "The Court will hold a hearing on June 22, 2010 to consider whether to approve the Settlements and a request for attorney's fees. The Court has appointed attorneys to represent the Class. You may hire your own attorney at your own expense".

So this means they are court-ordered/appointed attorneys for those who filed the lawsuit. I wonder if that means they are the 'public defenders' like po folks get from the court when they have no attorneys? Which leads me to wonder what 'attorney's fees' will come of it? Interesting to think about, but I doubt we'll hear anything of the actual $$ cost of these public defenders. I always thought they were paid at tax payer expense? I guess the world has changed so much that much of my knowlege no longer applies....
