Value of 92 Bronco

Tenants we evicted have abandoned a 92 Bronco at our house. They have not responded to messages to pick it up (they promised to pick it up the day after the eviction two months ago). It appears that the transmission is dead.

There is evidently a process (don't know it - if you do, please let me know) to get the title to a vehicle abandonded on your property.

A workman fixing up the house offered me $200 for it. How would I find out what it is actually worth?

Thanks in advance.

Contact your state's department of motor vehicles to ask about the proper forms to transfer title to an abandoned vehicle.

NADAguides.com or kelleybluebook.com (kbb.com). they have trade in, private sale, etc. values. Be honest of the actual condition of the verhicle, and you'll get a proper value.

We have a friend who restores older broncos. Here's a list of different clubs for you. Even though the 92 isn't "vintage", you may find a buyer willing to pay more than $200 for it or at least give you an idea of value. You might have good luck listing it on eBay too.

A fair condition 92 bronco around here is worth only about a grand max if its running. If the transmission is toast it may be more profitable to you to get it released to you as an abandoned vehicle and cash it out to a scrap yard.

We have a 92 Bronco rough but runs, last night Fri a salvage buyer offered $150.00 for it the wheels are worth more. I guess prices are lower here in Missouri.

Not a very high value vehicle but worth a pretty good buck as scrap right now. You don't need a title to scrap a vehicle, or at least not here in TN. You just have to remove the tires and gas tank.

I would just call a tow truck and have them pick it up, not worth the hassle of taking ownership just to sell it for $200..

I agree that old it is 200 maybe even less how many miles on it? How is the Body? It it a rust bucket?
And being the tranny is gone, that 200 figure maybe even high.

That era Bronco had head gasket issues. The really older ones are worth more to restorers and for SFA [solid front axle] conversions that some of the 4x4 crowd does to newer vehicles w/ independent front suspensions. Extream 4x4 conditions require the articulation available w/ a solid front axle while the independent suspensions get stuck in those conditions...

I would think that one has the Dana 25 front end, considered rather wimpy...call the scraper...

I think about only real demand for Bronco2's at this point is the off road crowd that put V8 in them, course then they have to put stronger axles, etc. But the offroaders like them for their compact size so are willing to do work upgrading the mechanicals. If body is shot then its scrap only. Perhaps if the transfer case is manual shifting kind, that would have some value. The electric shift kind dont age well but vast majority were electric so people like to replace them with a manual shift version. So basically a body in good condition and maybe the transfer case would have value but not much else.

here, you can't even get a car towed away for scrap without the title.

You're spending time and effort on it. It's also costing you time and effort as well as long as it stays on your rental property. Send them a registered letter stating that you are going to dispose of the abandoned vehicle which they said on (state the date) they would collect on (state the date they said) unless they do collect it by (Sunday date - full week plus a weekend away). If a registered letter won't work then a parcel delivery service requiring a receipt may. Paste a copy of the letter on the windscreen of the vehicle, take and print a dated photo of that. Keep a copy of the letter.

Agree with the guy who gave you the $200 offer. Time and effort is costing you money, and wasting you time you could be earning more.

I'd say 200 bucks is a fair price for something without a title and blown transmission. Broncos aren't worth much unless they are the 78-79 style. The little compact Broncos are worth even less.

Actually the compact '66-77 Broncos are the ones that are valuable. I'd still like to have a straight 6cyl early Bronco with 3 on the tree that wasnt rusted to heck, but those have mostly either been rusted to heck and scrapped or bought up and "restored" with a V8 and body lifts, etc. and priced far more than I'd pay. Had a '72 at one time and it was one of my favorite vehicles, but it rusted away.

The '78 and up big Broncos not so much though ones with solid front axle would be worth some money I guess if body good. Still they were big heavy behemouths and not what offroaders really want. The compact Bronco2 worth least of any for reasons I stated in post above.

I forgot all about those little puppies. I should have said the Bronco II's aren't worth much. The older Broncos are pretty neat.

OH Really??????????
I about to sell a '89 GMC Full Sized 1/2 ton PU, with a manual 5 Speed Over drive., Hauled many loads of hay and pulled many horses around.
The hitch is heavier then the frame is now.
I can be lucky to get 300 bucks maybe even less. Around here.
BUT then if YOU really want it at THAT price I can drive it down, heck i have friends on the MO/Iowa Boarder~!
OH I forgot to mention it also has just under 300,000 miles on it and I still can get 22 mpg.
And another tit bit I am the 2nd owner so I know the truck,, as it was a very close friend that bought it new. In fact i drove it when the truck was only 3 months old when I came back for XMas Vacation from AZ. I drove that same truck instead of "renting" a car.
$1,500 Bucks wow what a deal. When can I drive it down?????
