Murphy's Law ... tree down ... on barn

Quick ... not predicted severe ... storm front just blew through. After 10 years of some really pretty severe storms with no damage, we now have a tree down on the end of our barn.

Fortunately, DH built the barn and the timbering is very heavy and solid and it just caught one "corner" at the very end ... but did punch a hole in the roof and of course ... there it sits!

No animals injured, no real serious structural damage ... my biggest problem is going to keep DH (who is 80) off the roof with the chain saw!

Wrap a chain around trunk o ftree, and then attach to bumper of truck. Pull tree down .

Or call in some young whippersnappers to help.

Unfortunately there's no way to get to the root end of the tree with a truck and pull in a direction that won't cause more damage ... for one thing, a branch through the roof.

We've got a call in to DH's son but he's several hours away and with this being Easter weekend, has commitments (wife's family stuff) that can't be shifted.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I can't remember how far you are from me (Grayson County) but I am was not home for the storm. I don't have any trees to worry about at least nothing close to the house or garage or barn.

Hope you get it taken care of and be sure DH does not think he is 40 and say he can do it himself.

Thanks ... and I've threatened to sabotage his chain saw so maybe that will take care of the "I can do it" syndrome!

Oh, gosh, I'm sorry about your troubles. And I do hope DH doesn't get up there on the barn roof!

SFM, I'm sure sorry. If we were considerably closer, my 2 youngest would be more than happy to help you out.
