every one in the barn is swimming

after a hard rain today the goat barn floold out . the rain comming off the roof down the drain and a low place the barn was flooded. I dug a ditch away from the barn .now if I use the black plastic tile with holes through it. or any ideas thanks terry also do I need to put gravel down frist

That happens here all the time, only it's water running downhill, and EVERYWHERE here is downhill - LOL! I got tired of digging ditches, so finally put in a pallet floor (oak pallets) topped with plywood, in the worst areas. It works out really, really well, and my goats are able to stay dry during torrential rains now.

Be sure to get the tile in a cloth sock.

If you have very fine soil then yes I would bed the pipe in gravel or at least very coarse sand.
