Question Home-made squirrel baffle?

Anyone ever made or have any easy ideas for a home-made squirrel baffle, to keep the evil critters from eating all my bird seed?? My cat,Cowboy, is an awesome squirrel cat, but even he can't keep up w/ the darn critters around here! Would really love to not have to spend the $15+ at Lowes they want for one.
Thanks for any help!

Sprinkle some hot pepper powder in with the seed . Birds won't mind but squirrels will .

How are the squirrels getting onto the feeder? If they are climbing a pole I have seen traffic cones and stove pipes used effectively even a large pvc pipe. If they are jumping about the only think you can do it mount the feeder way from trees.

Something like this should work.

if he's coming up the pole a trashcan lid can work too.

Axle grease on the pole will work. Have your camera ready, it's funny to watch!

My pole is a landscape timber and i simply wrapped a three foot section of flashing around it and painted it black. It's thick enough that they can't wrap thier arms around it so no need for an unsightly baffle of any sort.
