Youkon Gold--and Sweet Potatoes

For various reasons, I'm not putting out a big garden this year--but I have a big box of Yukon Gold Potatoes sprouting and another big box of Sweet Potatoes, some sprouting on them too-and I'd like to find someone who could put them to good use, rather than dumping them. Any suggestions? I really dont want to pay for a add-to give something away.

Can you just post a note at your local feedstore? I am sure somebody would snap them right up. If not maybe your post office or library? All of ours allow free space for ads like that.
If I lived closer I would come get them from you.

Put them on craigslist...it doesn't get much cheaper than that.

Ceresone <> throw those Youkons out where they have groowing space on April the second. Just step on them and throw some mud or trash on them. They will grow and yield some taters. Then all you have to worry about is getting someone to dig them. Bake the sweet potatoes, then pull the skins off. Mash them up and make pumkin pie out of them. Or freeze them. Or put brown sugar and butter on some and I'll be down for supper.

Do you have a soup kitchen or something like that in your area? They'd probably be happy to take them.

Yukon gold spuds? Dump them in the yard and cover with leaves and old spoiled hay or straw. In the late summer you just pull off the hay or straw and you have potatoes and a new garden bed or flower bed. At least, that is what I would do.

If you don't want them you could post them on craigslist.
