Hoop house/high tunnel question

I have been considering putting up a hoop house or high tunnel to extend the growing season here. This is the kind where you grow the veggies in the ground in the building. So here is my question. How do things get pollinated if they are grown in such a building. I know you can roll the sides up a but for ventilation but I am wondering about pollination.

When I worked in one, we pollinated with a small makeup or paint brush. Sometimes there were ants crawling around, and they helped. ldc

Keep the ends open on your hoop house during the day.

I have enough openings around doors and windows that honeybees as well as other pollinators easily find their way inside. If it's late enough in the season for the bees to be flying and your HH isn't completely tight, you shouldn't have a problem.

Feel free to PM if you'd like to see pictures of our HH's.

Paintlady, you could check with other high-tunnel growers in the area. Maybe you know already, that there's a group in Crookston that uses one; also someone about 40 minutes north of Crookston. If you want contact info for them, just PM me.
