I need a refresher course

What is the formula for area of a cylinder , is it Pi. R2 x h thats Pi R squared times height, and how many bushels to a sq ft.. trying to determine volume on a grain tank...... Thanks , need a kick start on the brain ., it's been awhile... thanks...

The formula I use as a crop insurance adjuster is as follows:

Diameter X Diameter X Height X .7854 X .8 = bushels

i.e. 18' X 18' X 16'H X .7854 X .8 = 3257.2 bushels if it is at 15% moisture and 56# TW for corn that is.

To answer your question 1 cubic foot volume is .8 bushel.
I hope this helps. The above formula is a derivative of the geometric formula you are asking about.

Jalopy I think you have solved my problem we are going to install another tank at the farm possibly 75x75, we have qtr mil need another 250 thou... Thanks....
