Good gas barbecue recommendations.

Looking to buy a gas barbecue, preferrably a good quality yet smaller size. Just need it to cook for family not to entertain large crowds. For some reason it has to be big to be better and have all kinds of side burners and other useless accessories we don't want. Anyone have or know of what we're looking for? I'm well versed with all kinds of outdoor cooking units and have a few but what we want is a gas grill.

Are you looking for a propane model? If so we have a Weber Genesis that we like a lot. http://www.weber.com/grills/?glid=2&mid=41

I don't know if it can be converted to natural gas.

That's much larger then what we want. I am going to look at a Cuisanart portable grill to see what it's like. Propane is OK, that's what we have now.

my recommendation is to buy the best one you can and get stainless steel..otherwise you'll be throwing your money away when in a few years it is all rusty and cruddy and less than attractive..

i have a 6 burner with rotisserrie and a side burner in stainless with a side table..and i totally love it

We bought a smallish Weber, and it was expensive($400), but well-made. It weighs more than the big gleaming monsters they sell. It's only a 2 burner, but it cooks perfectly- we love it! Weber also makes small portable ones- the Q series, I believe its called.

Weber, we have friends who went thru 3 - 4 of the cheap ones, like Sunbeam, every few years. Couldn't get the parts to make them last longer. Then they bought a Weber. 6 years later they had to get a few replacement parts but it still looks and works like new...it is about 10 yrs old now.

Can't find a Cuisanart to look at and found they are made in China so I've lost interest. I have found Weber Q series which looks like it will do the job. Only ones stores carry are the Q100 which is the smallest, thinking the Q200 will be just right. They are built pretty heavy with a coated cast grill. Totally portable yet big enough for family cooking and from what I see Made in the USA.
