What a great day!

Sunny and a high of 61. Got a lot of fencing done. Hands are cut from barb wire and shirt is torn from briers. Man it felt good!!!
One more day of sun and I should be able to scrape the old road to the cabin. It has been a mud pit with all the rain and snow.
A full day working on the "homestead" outside in the sun.
It don't get much better than this. It was the first Friday here without rain or snow in 6 weeks.
Hope the weather is improving where you are.

Hank

Amen brother! I took the day off. I worked on my greenhouse and even planted some carrots. I transplanted them from pots in my kitchen. They might not make it but I didn't really care, I had my hands in the dirt and a short sleeve shirt on!

The rest of the weekend looks even better! I can smell spring...

I think the earth here knows Spring is coming, but I haven't been convinced yet. The Japanese Magnolias are beginning to bud and the daffodils are beginning to show their smiling faces. We were out in the woods scrounging up some dead wood for firewood to help finish out the season.

Got up to 59 here today and supposed to again tomorrow. Hard to believe it was snowing last weekend! I'm planning on getting out tomorrow and start cleaning up the chicken pen and garden.

Sorry blooba, wasn't trying to rub it in.
But, it's suppose to be even warmer today (Sat.)
Lets see, plow the garden spot, lay out the area for the goat shed, plant some fruit trees......O, sorry again blooba.

It's still too wet to plant here, technically.

But, I have some stuff I really need to get out there, and the broccoli seedlings in my windowsill have waited long enough. I haven't had homegrown broccoli in years and I miss it! Nothing like the rubbery awful grocery stuff.

Bulbs too... very late, but at this point I've nothing to lose.

:-( I want to be down south right about now, but when its 110 outside and only 90 here I guess I'll be liking it. Hank, are you far enough south to plant oranges? If so plant one for me, i loved my orange tree down in FL.

I am just thrilled to pieces that it is above freezing here this morning, the sun is peeking out, and the winds have died down. We still have a couple feet of compacted snow on the ground.

I'm sure happy for all of you that have sun and are planting! Here in SW Colorado, they are calling for 1 to 2 FEET more snow in the next two days. There are 4 storms lined up to hit us! The skiers are happy for sure, but the rest of us are shrinking into the wood work. Hopefully, they're wrong - they often are, but it's depressing to be looking at the whole week of snow. Some melted yesterday, but there's still 1.5 feet on all flat ground - not counting the drifts and plowed drifts. It will sure be green when we finally find Spring! In the meantime, knitting, crocheting, quilting, are getting done. It's even still too early to start things - we can't reliably plant outside until the middle of May.

We get four seasons down here too...it's just that Spring and Fall only last two weeks and winter only lasts eight weeks.
