can you sharpen a undulated blade

and if you can, how do you do it?

DH and I bought a meat slicer form Orschlens years ago. It's a Nesco one, considered "professional" but not commercial. It's cut lots of jerkey and home made bacon over the years and the blade is now pretty dull. We can't find a replacement blade, so wondered if we could sharpen the darn thing and if so...need to know how!

Thanks!

to sharpen you need to turn it on and hold a sharping stone against the blade as it turns.

After you get it pretty sharp, take a piece of smooth steel and run the blade against that on both sides for just a little bit.

Commercial ones would come with an attachment to sharpen them. Machine is turned on and stone lightly pressed flat against the cutting edge. That assures an even sharpness all the way around. Being undulated allows the blade to be sharpened many times before needing to be replaced.
