Washing Diesel Out?

I spilled some diesel on my Carhart jacket. Soaked through the layers of insulation before I could get it off.

I hit it with lots of Spray N Wash, then put it in the washer on soak for a while, then I ran it through two wash cycles, but it still smells of diesel. I even hung it outside for a day, but I can still smell it, especially on the inside quilted part.

Any ideas or suggestions how to get it out, or am I just goig to have to wait till forever?

I concur.
I always use Simple Green on DH's laundry. It'll get the oil, grease, diesel, etc.

About a quarter to a half cup per load, depending upon severity.

I've used Greased Lightning on blue jeans before and it worked well. Don't know about a quilted fabric though. You could light it on fire and burn the smell out of it.

I usually use Classic blue Dawn to soak the area where the spill happened then wash the item (alone) with some simple green and clothes detergent.

Ditto the Simple Green, then what I'd do is dump fabric softener in the wash with the jacket (hubby would not appreciate so much) Then hang it outdoors for a few days. Worth a try.
