Anyone gone to an Appleseed Project Event?

Dh and I are considering attending one that will be nearby in April. Has anyone gone and did you learn a lot while there? Was it a pretty good group of folks?

I've heard nothing but good things about the program and hope to go this year, too. Also, note that the Appleseed site has a list of things to bring, some of which aren't quite as obvious as you'd think (like elbow pads and ground cover).
