Yukon Jack, Frozen water and a sprained thumb

Went to work today (mostly to drink) . Chili contest today so no reason to buy food. Anyways, I became reacquainted with an alluring elixir known as "Yukon Jack". Yukon Jack is basically a flavored whiskey. What is this mystery flavor that Jack has that causes me to imbibe, slip on the ice, and sprain my thumb? Water was sgtill frozen when when I got home. I had to resort to drastic measures to thAW IT OUT, then water the cattle, while still under the influence of Messrs Jack @ co. If not for speel check this post wouold be totally (as opposed to slightly) INCOMPREHENSIBLE. (dang caplock).

GHood night and G-d bless.

It'll git you too.......

Yukon Jack, I think, is Canadian whiskey and has a honey flavor, as well as some herb. It goes down pretty smooth.
It is a really good drink, If, you don't drink too much.
It's 100 proof. At least what I drank was. That's why it'll sneak up on you.

An old guy had a big bottle of it one night we were sitting out,
listening to the hounds run. And, that's a good occupation, if you like it,
listening to the hounds & passing a bottle or two around. Did any of you
ever do that?
I haven't done it in several years. The cold gets to me more, now I'm
older. Might be fun some mild night or two. I can find some Yukon Jack.
I might know a guy or two with hounds.

Quite a few years ago I found Yukon Jack to be the best snake bite medicine that was ever made. kind of hard to find a good snake when you need him though.

Hey Tinknal! Do you have any idea why it takes the train so long to go from Princeton to Milaca?

Back in my bar hopping days we used to call a shot of Jack a "trip up the Yukon". Ah the good old days.

Many years ago I went to a dance where the place only sold pop, and I vaguely remember being poured into the back seat of my car & hauled home - took a few years to figure out who drove. My one foray away from beer....

This winter I'm considering trying another Windsor. Snowing again. This is getting old. And I have a bit of a bug, could use some chasing away.....

I spent 20 plus years in the US Marine Corps and got the nickname "YukonJack", after spending numerous deployments to cold weather areas. That name has stuck with me for many years. But in my younger days, I did throw a few back with the other fellas but don't do that much anymore.

Ahhh nice. I remember Alkool, from university in Quebec. 190 proof. Taken off the market after some unfortunate blindings from alcohol poisoning. That one could get away on you pretty quick.

A litre of vodka mixed with 2 litres of Raspberry Schweppes... that was a smooth one too. Best friend's wife was pregnant so she told us about it the next morning (still in university). I drank the vodka, he drank a 40 of JD, then we hit the draft for a couple of hours, then somehow entered a pizza eating contest at 2 AM. At some point one of our other friends decided I needed to go up to the bar and "pick up" some girls for those of us who weren't married, I was too drunk not to take it literally, came back carrying three girls over my shoulders. Ooops.

Now I can get giddy from more than one beer.

LOL, only when you own the business.

In retrospect I think I got a concussion when I fell. I forgot about the bump on the head right afterward, but remembered when I woke up this morning because of the huge knot on my temple,

Actually, I didn't have a headache (no brain no pain ya know). Just a very tender bruise.

Yukon Jack is basically a cordial. It isn't meant to be a drink such as Seagrams Canadian Club and soda or beer.

Cordials can give a person a huge hangover.

Not that I have to tell you that now.

Best to ya.., NJ Rich

DH's cure for a cold is a cup of hot tea with honey and lemon and a shot of Yukon Jack.
