A good day for fruit tree pruning

Enough lazing around watching the Sunday morning political shows and hanging out on HT.

It's a balmy 21 degrees and the sun is out here in NE Ohio. Time to go outside and do a little fruit tree pruning.

DW is making a batch of lip balm and will have some hot soup ready for me when I come back inside.

Enjoy! I am waiting another three weeks. Then I will ruthlessly tackle the pear tree, which was overwhelmed with fireblight last year and gently groom my old apple tree, unless, of course, I decide to cut it off and graft on some cortlands.

I think I'd better wait till at least March here where I'm at, still to early for me. Usually end of March or into April is good for me. We can start planting Bare root dormant tree's about April 20th or about so that's what I go by usually. All depends on the weather which we all know is not normal anymore!

Plum and cherry trees are done. Had a bit of black knot on one of the plums (blech!).

Still have the apples, peaches and pear trees to do.
