Propane cookstove problem

Recently purchased a new Frigidare(Electrolux) cookstove.

3 of the 4 top burners have uneven flames. Flame length varies, from short and blue to long with yellow tips.

There is no air adjustment for the top burners. Appliance store thought it was defective burner heads. Installed the new burner heads today, and no difference, in fact, maybe worse as far as yellow flame.

Any thoughts?

Hmmm..being a new model I would think the store would be able to figure this out. Our 1920's propane stove does have an adjustment for each burner where the handles for turning on the gas are..we light ours with a match. Good Luck !!

Is it possible that your stove still has the nozzles for natural gas, and not for propane?

Reference this link,

and figure out your pipe sizes and lengths with the type of regulators you have and see if you are delivering the correct volume of gas to the appliance. You may have the proper pressure without the volume you need. This is a common problem on furnaces with the same symptoms that you have.

If this is a NEW stove, shouldnt it be the seller's/manufacturer's problem? Matter of fact you might void your warranty messing with it yourself.

Since one of the 4 is working correctly, sounds like a factory defect. Maybe the wrong orifices have been installed. Natural gas vs propane or the wrong sized ones for your burner's rated BTU output.

Update on cookstove.
Called manufacturer and talked to CSR. They overnighted a new conversion kit. Appliance store had installed incorrect orfices for the style of burner on my stove. All is well now.
