Anyone use Leggs sausage seasonings?

http://www.aclegg.com/indexeng.htm

Just picked up a package of #10 pork sausage seasoning. I had just made 25 lbs of sausage so I'll have to wait to try it. Many old timers say this is the brand they always used.

Excellent choice! They actually carry Legg's in stock at the Piggly Wiggly here so I don't even have to order. I've tried others but always come back to Legg's.

But, those nifty egg shaped plastic containers are so useful for other things it almost makes the chewy sausage worth it!

I have to agree with Stephen. I found some of the #10 at Piggly Wiggly here after an extensive search at other stores turned up no seasonings at all. The deer sausage I made with it was exceptional. I look forward to next deer season so I can make more.

Yes, for both pork and venison sausage. For the venison I use 16 lbs of meat to the pack and for pork I use the guideline on the package.

This may sound odd but I've used this seasoning on mullet that I smoked over oak, buttonwood and citrus wood. Everyone I shared the mullet with loved it. I've also sprinkled it on soups stews, fried eggs and other foods.

I recently got an Oster high output meat/food chopper off craigslist for $5. I still have about 10 pounds of store bought sausage that I stocked up on but when that runs out I'll be making some pork sausage with the Leggs seasoning. It's good stuff.

we will be killing 7 hogs this Saturday (if the weather holds). This is ALL we use. IMO....it's the best!!. I go light on the meat...22 lb to a pack, not 25 pounds. Makes it a little spicer!
